If you’ve been thinking about adding a four-legged friend to the family, the team at Dogs Trust Leeds currently has a wide array of dogs patiently waiting for their forever homes.
From bright, high-energy pups looking for active adventures across West Yorkshire to gentle senior companions who would like nothing more than a quiet spot on the sofa, each of these rescue dogs brings their own unique personality and charm.
Whether you’re a seasoned dog owner or looking to welcome a rescue for the very first time, here are 12 dogs currently at the Leeds rehoming centre looking for a fresh start and a second chance this October.

1. Jupiter
Jupiter is a six-year-old Dobermann Cross who forms a very strong bond with his friends. He can be a bit anxious around new people and places, so his adopters will need to slowly work with the Dogs Trust team to build a bond and prepare him for life in his forever home. He likes to be with his friends all the time, so it will be a little while until he can be built up to any time on his own. | Dogs Trust
2. Billy
Billy is a brilliant two-year-old English Springer Spaniel and Collie cross who is looking for active adopters ready for plenty of fun. Bright, energetic, and highly trainable, Billy thrives on play, mental stimulation, and having a secure garden where he can burn off some steam. He loves playing in water and learning new tricks, though he will benefit from a predictable routine and adopters who can initially be around all the time to help him settle in. | Gerard Binks

3. Nuche
Looking for a super smart, super fun and super handsome Lurcher? Then meet Nuche! He’s two-years-old and bursting with potential. He’s quite shy initially, but once he’s familiar, there’s no stopping him! He’s very affectionate and loves to snuggle with his friends. He’s fine to make doggy friends out and about for walkies, but doesn’t like to share his home, so will need to be the only pet. He needs a calm home and a consistent routine. | Leeds Dogs Trust

4. Ivy
Ivy is a beautiful 16-month-old Staffy Cross who had a very difficult start to life. She was born at the Dogs Trust centre but was unfortunately the ‘runt’ of the litter. It took a lot of work to keep her going but she eventually grew stronger. Sadly, she has spent her entire life so far with the Dogs Trust as her tricky start has left her very anxious and lacking in confidence. | Dogs Trust Leeds
5. Gino
Gino is a friendly, high-energy four-year-old Lurcher who adores meeting people and loves plenty of fuss. A big, playful boy with a real zest for life, he is looking for an active home with adopters who can take him on plenty of adventures and continue his training. He is super smart and food-motivated, making him quick to learn.

6. Buddy
While Buddy can be anxious meeting new people and exploring new places, his fun, playful side completely shines through once he feels confident. Buddy has hip dysplasia, but it doesn't hold him back from a happy, active life, and Dogs Trust may help support ongoing medical costs. | Dogs Trust Leeds
