Leeds-based floral design firm channels Wuthering Heights this Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, Leeds-based floral design brand, Opulence and the Beetle, is inviting hopeless romantics, literature lovers and anyone with a taste for drama to fall head over heels for a new faux floral collection inspired by Wuthering Heights, just in time for the release of the much-anticipated new film adaptation.
Launched in 2025 by former risk management director, Anice Neville, Opulence and The Beetle is redefining the world of artificial florals.
Rather than traditional, symmetrical bouquets, Anice has left her corporate career behind to create bold, sculptural arrangements that blur the line between floristry and art.
Each piece is designed as a long-lasting interior statement - expressive, emotive and deliberately untamed - offering a more sustainable alternative to fresh flowers without compromising on dramatic interior impact.

The brand has already experienced huge success, with Anice being commissioned to create showstopping installations for award-winning hospitality businesses including Leeds’ The Swine Bistro and famous stately homes like Raby Castle.
Because not all love stories are neat and tidy, Opulence and the Beetle’s latest collection celebrates passion in its wildest form. Think windswept moors, stormy hearts and romance that refuses to fade, all captured in beautiful floral arrangements and designs that will last far beyond 14th February.
Taking centre stage is ‘Heathcliff’, a vast, untamed arrangement that is as brooding and unforgettable as its namesake. Priced at £375, this one-off piece is bold, dramatic and unapologetically opulent, overflowing with richly hued blooms and sprawling silhouettes. Inspired by the raw intensity of Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff is not a quiet love letter, it’s a declaration.
For those seeking something equally romantic but a little more intimate, ‘These Dark Hearts’ is a hand-tied bouquet inspired by the same gothic love story. Traditionally, Opulence and the Beetle’s bouquets are one-of-a-kind, but this Valentine’s Day a limited run of just 10 of these bouquets will be available. ‘These Dark Hearts’ is priced at £70, with postage available at £6.59 (First Class Signed For) or £5.49 (Second Class Signed For).

Completing the collection are two further arrangements inspired by the enduring characters of Brontë’s novel. ‘Catherine’ (priced at £350) is a dramatic, free-flowing design that captures the wild beauty and emotional intensity of the moors, combining richly toned faux roses, ranunculus, anemones and hellebores in deep damson, crimson and purple shades, arranged in a dark cast iron urn for maximum impact.
In contrast, ‘Hareton’ (priced at £280) offers a more rugged and atmospheric composition, with striking deep purple poppies rising from entwined willow stems, honeysuckle and dark foliage, finished with trailing blackberries for an untamed, woodland feel. Both arrangements reflect Opulence and the Beetle’s signature approach to floristry - expressive, sculptural and designed as lasting interior pieces rather than fleeting gestures.
Whether you’re channelling Catherine and Heathcliff or simply want flowers that won’t wilt when the drama dies down, these pieces are designed to be treasured long after the credits roll.
Speaking about the new arrangements, Anice Neville, founder of Opulence and The Beetle said: “Valentine’s Day is often associated with soft pastels and predictable romance, but I wanted to explore something deeper and more passionate. This collection is a love letter to romance that is a little unruly and is perfect for those who prefer their Valentine’s gifts with a touch of tempest and a nod to literary passion.
“I design florals as storytelling pieces, and this selection celebrates love that’s a little stormy, a little obsessive and completely unforgettable with bold, untamed arrangements created as keepsakes rather than fleeting gestures.”
Crafted from high-quality faux blooms and shaped by hand, every arrangement reflects the brand’s signature style: lush, layered and emotionally rich designs that respond to the growing appetite for dramatic interiors and more sustainable floral choices.
