Wakefield man charged with murder of nine-year-old Minnie Merriman in Abroath, Scotland
A man from Wakefield has been charged with the murder of a nine-year-old girl who died after being found injured at an industrial estate in Scotland.
Minnie Merriman was discovered in Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath shortly before midnight on Sunday.
She was taken to Ninewells Hospital, in Dundee, where she later died.
Christopher Rice, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court today , where he faced a single charge of murder.
Police earlier said he was known to Minnie.
He entered no pleas and was remanded in custody until a later date.
