Man banned from entering Wakefield after attacking woman
A man who attacked a woman in Wakefield has been banned from setting foot in the city.
Ammar Dejra, 40, was also jailed for 27 months after admitting to suffocating and sexually assaulting the woman.
The court heard that Dejra, of Banner Street in Liverpool, followed the victim on November 10 last year.

The victim gave an impact statement in which she said she “continues to be frightened”.
Prosecuting David Povall requested that Dejra be prevented from entering Wakefield.
For the defence, Richard Canning highlighted that Dejra had spent three months in custody while awaiting sentence, adding: “For somebody who had not even previously had a caution this short, sharp shock can give your honour confidence that he will not offend again.”
Mr Canning added that Dejra had shown “genuine remorse”, but this was disputed by the Recorder Craig Hassall KC, who said that a probation officer was “unconvinced that you have shown any significant insight into what you have done”.
He issued Dejra with a 27 month sentence, of which he will serve half before being considered for release.
He was also banned from entering the Wakefield postcode area.
