Driver of powerful Vauxhall admits part in Leeds crash that left pensioners badly injured
Motorist told he could face immediate custody
A driver has admitted his part in a crash that left three people badly injured.
James Pickles was behind the wheel of a powerful Vauxhall VXR on October 17, 2023.
Two pensioners were badly injured, including one who suffered life-threatening injuries.
Pickles, 35, appeared at Leeds Crown Court and admitted three counts of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

Pickles, of Weston Drive, Otley, is due to be sentenced later this year, although no date has been fixed.
He was warned by Judge Penelope Belcher that he not only faces a lengthy driving ban, but could be sent into custody. He was bailed until his next appearance.
The smash occurred on the A6110 ring road in Beeston, at the junction with Elland Road at 2.30pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
A grey Audi A6 carrying the two pensioners was travelling from the ring road towards Elland Road when it crashed near Junction 1 of the M621.
The driver of the Audi, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, while the passenger, a woman also in her 70s, was taken by ambulance for treatment of life changing injuries.
