Father-of-four caught dealing deadly heroin and cocaine in Wakefield
The former forklift truck driver turned to drugs to provide for his family
A drug dealer caught with 50 wraps of heroin and cocaine in Wakefield has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.
Leeds Crown Court heard police suspected Haroon Rashid was dealing drugs on Woodcock Street in Wakefield in the early hours of July 30 and tried to stop the car he was driving.
Rashid mounted a grass verge in an attempt to get away but was stopped.
Rashid was arrested and police found the 50 wraps and three mobile phones in the car.

Andrea Parnham, for Rashid, said the father-of-four had a difficult background after his parents split when he was young.
She said: "He found school very difficult and got in with the wrong crowd. He has been addicted to drugs for a number of years."
The court heard Rashid has previously worked as a fork lift truck driver but has been unemployed for two years.
Ms Parnham said: "He found himself unemployed with a drug habit. He was unable to fund his drug habit and support his family."
Ms Parnham said Rashid has attended drug rehabilitation on two previous occasions and is currently drug free.
Rashid, 36, of no fixed abode, admitted two offences of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Judge Simon Batiste told him: "You have a very bad record including offences of driving while disqualified, Class A drug dealing in 2013, causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
"Earlier this year a six-month sentence suspended for eight months for offences including driving while disqualified."
The court heard Rashid was already banned from driving until 2028. Judge Batiste said eight penalty points will be added to his driving licence.
