Police hunt for driver after car hits bus and flips on busy Leeds street
A hunt is underway for the driver of a car that hit a bus and flipped over on a busy Leeds street.
Officers were called at 8.40am on Thursday (February 12) after a blue Skoda Fabia crashed into multiple vehicles on Savins Mill Way. It then sped off towards the city centre via Kirkstall Road.
Police believe the car was then involved in a second incident around five minutes later on Canal Road, close to the junction with Pickering Street. It collided with other vehicles while trying to overtake a line of slow-moving traffic.
Having failed to stop at the scene, the Skoda Fabia then drove the wrong way through traffic down Jack Lane along the A61 in the direction of the M621 Junction 4. Crashing into more vehicles, it failed to stop once more.

The Skoda was then involved in a further collision on Dewsbury Road, Beeston, at around 8.50am, which resulted in it flipping onto its roof and coming to rest after hitting a double-decker bus.
The male driver of the car, described as wearing a black puffa style coat, ran away from the scene on foot. No-one was reported to be injured in the collisions.
Inspector Claire Gray of the Roads Policing Unit, said; “A number of enquiries remain ongoing into this series of incidents in Leeds in which a Skoda Fabia has clearly been driven in a dreadful and dangerous manner.
“It is fortunate no-one was seriously injured, and I want to make clear all possible enquiries are being conducted to identify and locate the driver.”
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police added: “Roads policing officers are appealing for footage and information after a car collided with other vehicles in Leeds.
“Officers from the force’s Roads Policing Unit would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of a blue Skoda Fabia involved in dangerous driving incidents on Thursday 12 February.
