Man arrested by police after series of sexual assaults in Harehills and Gipton

The 29-year-old has been arrested in connection with a series of reported sexual assaults in the Harehills and Gipton areas of Leeds.

A public appeal for information, including images and footage of a suspect, was issued by police last month. It followed incidents on November 17 on Berkley Road, Hill Top Mount and Amberton Road on December 8 and Back Hill Top Avenue on December 22.

The man, who has not been formally named at this time, is from Leeds and remains in custody.

“Members of the public who shared the appeal or provided information to the police are thanked for their assistance,” a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson added.
