Men charged with producing edibles and weight-loss jabs in Castleford
Two men have been charged with drug offences after two properties in Castleford were raided by police.
Officers from Wakefield’s Programme Precision team, assisted by the force’s CBRN officers, conducted searches at properties in Garden Street and Smawthorne Grove on Wednesday morning (May 6).
Officers found laboratory equipment used to produce drugs, a large quantity of cannabis and substantial amounts of confectionary and packaging materials believed to be connected to the manufacture of THC-infused sweets.
Officers also seized thousands of items of packaging from the Garden Street address, including vials, needles and boxes believed to be connected to the commercial manufacture and distribution of unregulated weight-loss injections.

A large number of prescription medicines were also seized.
Two men, aged 34 and 44, and a woman were arrested in connection with the investigation.
Both men were remanded to appear before magistrates in Leeds today.
The woman who was arrested has been released pending further enquiries.
