Wakefield paedophile blamed drink and drugs for sexual assaults on two youngsters
Pervert told he is a danger to children
A pervert who sexually assaulted two young girls then threatened to kill himself if they told anyone.
Manipulative Jordan Ibbetson tried to blame drink and drugs and claims not to have a sexual interest in children.
The 34-year-old was jailed at Leeds Crown Court this week after admitting two counts of sexual assaults on the girls, aged 12 and 13.
No further details can be disclosed to help protect the identity of the victims, although the court heard his actions had a “profound effect on them”.

When a parent found out, he was challenged and confessed. He told them that he had referred himself to the police, which was a lie.
Despite this, he then refused to answer police questions during two interviews following his arrest, prosecutor Andrew Stranex told the court.
Mitigating, Andrew Semple pointed to Ibbetson’s lack of previous relevant convictions.
He said there was remorse reflected by his early guilty pleas.
He added that Ibbetson, of Hillgarth, Knottingley, had an “unhealthy relationship with drink and drugs”, but had stopped and was now 18 months sober.
He said the intervention Ibbetson required could be given in the community, rather than in prison.
But Judge Simon Phillips KC pointed to probation reports into Ibbetson, that he continues to deny a sexual interest in children and there being elements of minimisation of his behaviour.
The report suggested Ibbetson continues to pose a high risk to children, while Judge Phillips also said there was grooming involved and attempts to stop the victims from exposing him.
He jailed Ibbetson for 30 months, gave him a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and put him on the sex offender register for life.
