Two doorstep traders from Leeds charged with fraud offences in Calderdale as police appeal to victims
Police have issued an appeal for victims after two doorstep traders were charged on suspicion of fraud offences in Calderdale.
Doorstep traders Luke and Gerry Moorehouse, aged 31 and 24 respectively, were arrested last week in connection with fraud offences alleged to have occurred in the Elland area earlier this month involving elderly victims.

Both men, who are from the Biggin area of Leeds, were later charged in relation to these matters. They have since been bailed.
Enquiries into these offences suggest that the men may have been targeting elderly residents in other parts of Calderdale and are appealing to people who believe they may have been a victim to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Dave Purcell, said: “We believe these men have been travelling with others around the Calderdale area and intimidating older people to have their driveways or roofs cleaned.
“We have charged them in relation to two matters in Elland where significant sums of money were requested from elderly people, and believe they are likely to have targeted others in Elland in recent weeks, and possibly in Brighouse too.”
Anyone with any information about similar incidents of this nature in Calderdale, or anywhere else in West Yorkshire are asked to report them to police on 101, or by using the 101LiveChat on the force’s website.
