Police warning after rise in late night burglaries in south Leeds
Police in south Leeds have stepped up patrols after a rise in late night burglaries.
West Yorkshire Police’s Leeds South team have said they have seen an increase in residential burglaries in the Middleton and Belle Isle areas of the city last week.

They say they have been working extended shifts this week “throughout the night” to protect properties and thwart any would-be thieves.
In a post on social media the force added: “Following the seizure of the vehicle suspected to be used by the offenders, enquiries are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible.
“The patrols and seizure appear to have disrupted the burglary trend and happy to report we have had no reported burglaries over the last few days.”
But they have still warned that residents in those areas need to continue to be vigilant.
The post added: “We warn residents to be extra vigilant and ensure they continue to take precautions to protect their properties during the winter months.”
