Acting Detective Inspector Tom Littlewood, from Leeds District Safeguarding, said: “This operation has targeted offenders suspected of causing some of the greatest harm in our communities.

“Protecting children and tackling violence against women and girls remain key priorities for the force, and we are committed to safeguarding vulnerable victims and bringing offenders to justice.”

During the operation on Wednesday (June 10), 16 people were arrested. Following interviews, two men were charged with breaching their restraining orders and appeared before court this morning.

Eleven others were released on bail, while one was released under investigation. Two were released with no further action taken.

Detective Inspector Littlewood added: “We continue to encourage victims to come forward and report abuse, safe in the knowledge that all reports will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.”
