TikTok phone row led to Castleford boyfriend headbutting partner

He told her would “wipe her out” as he stood over her

A thug attacked his partner after a row erupted over the volume of his phone while she was trying to watch TV.

Convicted drug dealer Lee Campy was given another jail sentence at Leeds Crown Court for the attack, but having been held on remand since the start of the year, was told he would be released immediately.

The 49-year-old had been found guilty after a trial of assault by beating and ABH.

During an argument on December 29 he pushed the woman against a door after “squaring up to her".

On the evening of January 14, she was watching TV when Campy came downstairs and tried to show her TikTok videos that he was laughing about.

She then turned up the volume of the TV to drown out his phone, which triggered an argument.

He stormed upstairs and was slamming items around, so she followed him up and told him to stop because it was her home.

Campy then "got in her face" and screamed at her, before launching at her and catching her on the nose with a full-force headbutt.

Covered in blood, he leaned over and told her it was her own fault.

He got a tissue for her but then became aggressive again.

He told her: "If I'm going to get locked up, I'm going to wipe you out."

Campy then slammed her head against the wall almost causing her to lose consciousness.

The woman was eventually able to escape and Campy was arrested the next day.

He denied everything during his police interview.

Campy, of Ridgefield Street, Castleford, was only jailed last month for drug dealing.

No mitigation was offered by his barrister this week after the judge agreed he would be freed on time already served.

Judge Penelope Belcher handed him an 11-month sentence.
