West Yorkshire Police officer formally acquitted of strangulation charges
A West Yorkshire Police officer has been formally acquitted of charges against a woman.
Detective Constable Dean Hammond, who works in Wakefield, previously pleaded not guilty to charges of intentional strangulation, assault by beating and coercive control.
The charges relate to off-duty offences in the Hull area and were investigated by Humberside Police.
Hammond, 46, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Monday, March 10, where criminal proceedings were discontinued.
The officer remains suspended from duty, and misconduct proceedings will be considered in due course.
