A1M: Disruption on motorway with closures in place after 'police led incident'
Drivers are being warned of disruption on a major Yorkshire motorway this morning following a ‘police-led’ incident.
The A1M in West Yorkshire is closed northbound between J40 (near Pontefract) and J41 (M62/Knottingley) after the incident at just after midnight.

Traffic was briefly held on the southbound carriageway but National Highways confirmed that police released vehicles at around 1.45am.
Meanwhile the northbound carriageway this morning remains shut as West Yorkshire Police carry out investigation work.
National Highways traffic officers are also in attendance to support with traffic management.
Drivers are being warned that a diversion will be in place and they should follow the solid triangle diversion symbol.
They should exit the A1m using the Darrington off-slip and take the exit road for the M62. They should then take the first exit and join the M62 westbound before leaving at junction 32A to rejoin the A1M northbound.
National Highways warned: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
