A fire alarm went off just before the performance began, and all customers were evacuated from the building as staff investigated the cause of the alarm.

A spokesperson for Leeds Heritage Theatres told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Our fire alarm went off just before last night’s performance of Legally Blonde: The Musical had started.

“We were unable to find evidence of fire but the alarm persisted so in order to ensure the safety of all customers and in accordance with our procedures, a full evacuation took place.

“Having ascertained the building was safe and reset the alarms, we were able to allow the audience back into the building at 8pm and the performance started at 8.10pm and continued as planned.”

Legally Blonde: The Musical will return to the Leeds Grand Theatre tonight,
