Officers received a call at 12.24pm reporting a motorcyclist had come off his machine on Brookfoot Lane in Southowram, near to the quarry.

Emergency services attended, however Mr Park, who had come off his Harley Davidson, had tragically suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following enquiries the drivers of three other vehicles, a silver Ford Transit van with livery on it, silver Mercedes SLK and a grey Audi A1 were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the death of the 78-year-old.

The trio of vehicles had been travelling towards Brighouse when they came into contact with Mr Park who was travelling in the opposite direction. It is believed the cars and van had been involved in an incident just prior to Mr Park encountering them.

A 32-year-old woman driving the Audi, 39-year-old man driving the Mercedes and the 35-year-old man who was driving the van have now all been released on police bail pending further enquires.

Multiple enquiries continue by specialist roads policing investigators at MCET to determine the full circumstances of the incident

Anyone who has footage of the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team on 101 or online at https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat referencing police log number 0696 of 31 January
