Firefighters were called to Roundhay Road Minimarket on Roundhay Road, Harehills, at about 4.33am today (Wednesday September 2).

The road was closed while five crews tackled the fire.

The fire involved the front of the shop and smoke then spread to the properties on either side, which affected the ground and first floors.

And new footage of the scene, which you can watch above, shows significant damage to the building.

A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Fire Service said: “The fire involved the front of a shop which then saw smoke spread to properties either side, affecting the ground and first floors.

“Five crews used breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish the fire.”
