A major phone network is experiencing outages today. GiffGaff customers are reporting that they are ‘unable to make or receive calls’.
Users have rushed to DownDetector this morning (February 4) to flag issues. It includes being unable to access the website.
The issues were first flagged around 6am but more reports have been filled throughout the day. People have also raised concerns on social media.
One user posted on X (formerly Twitter): “What the hell is going on #giffgaff cant even make or receive calls.”
The problems are also affecting the GiffGaff app. A person explained: “I can't pay my monthly bill or make calls which I need for work purposes, giffgaff send texts stating you need to pay but this seems useless, 4 years with giffgaff and never had this! also the website is just as bad (no access)...”
Responding to customers on social media, GiffGaff’s account wrote: “We apologise for the temporary site issue. Our team is working on this and expect it to be updated very soon, You can check how much data you used once that's complete.”
The issues started to be resolved around midday (12pm) - with the number of reports on Downdetector starting to fall.
