‘Difficult decision’: Leeds Feel-Good Health Club gym to close after ‘increase in costs’

“This has been a difficult decision, reached after careful consideration.”

A gym in Leeds has made the “difficult decision” to close its doors for good.

The Feel-Good Health Club on Otley Road will be shutting in August after “careful consideration”. It has blamed “increases in operating costs” for the closure.

In an email to customers, seen by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the gym has announced that it will be shutting next month. The planned closure date is Monday, August 10.

The email reads: “I am writing to inform you of our decision to close the Feel-Good Health Club.

“This has been a difficult decision, reached after careful consideration. Like many businesses, we have experienced significant increases in operating costs, and it has become increasingly challenging to run the club profitably while maintaining the standards our members expect.

“We have always endeavoured to provide the best possible service to our valued members. However, we have now reached a point where it is no longer viable to continue operating as a members’ club, particularly within an increasingly competitive and evolving leisure market.”

It concludes: “We sincerely thank you for your loyalty and understanding. We appreciate that this is not an ideal situation, but given the ongoing financial losses, we have no alternative.”
