Leeds Road: Storm-damaged Leeds United mural in Guiseley to be restored
A familiar Leeds United mural in Guiseley is getting a much-needed facelift ahead of its fourth anniversary.
Created by local artist Phil Harris and first unveiled in 2021, the mural on the side of the former Yorkshire Rose Pub, now the Yorkshire Dental Suite, on Leeds Road, has become a familiar landmark.
Despite its young age, recent storm damage and environmental factors have taken their toll, with parts of the mural showing signs of deterioration that could present potential safety hazards.

Harry Griffiths, Brand Manager at Yorkshire Dental Suite, said: “We want to ensure that the mural remains safe and a beautiful part of the community for years to come.
“Our aim is to carry out repairs that not only protect passersby but also honour the spirit of the mural and its place in Guiseley’s heritage.”
Mr Griffith added that the dental clinic is actively exploring plans for long-term preservation of the mural.
He added: “The clinic invites local residents and Leeds United supporters to stay engaged with the project, underscoring the shared commitment to safeguarding a landmark that brings the community together.”
