Every day, communities in Leeds must say their final farewells to family members, friends, colleagues, neighbours and many other characters who have played a unique part in local life.
Some may be more well known than others, but all had a special place in someone’s heart and in our city.

7. Paul Henry Hallas
Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Red Court Care Home, Pudsey, aged 77 years. Paul, formerly from Halton, Leeds, and previously employed by Leeds City Council. Beloved son of the late Nellie and Henry Hallas. Brother of the late Joyce and uncle to Kate. The funeral service and celebration of Paul's life will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, Lawnswood Crematorium at 10.45am. Family flowers only please, however donations are gratefully received for the benefit of St Gemma's Hospice, there will be a donation box at the service. 8. Eric Mellor
Passed away in St James' Hospital on Friday, January 23, 2026, aged 79 years. Husband of the late Sandra Mellor, Dad of Phillip, Brother of Leslie and the late David, Uncle to Abigail and Louise. The funeral service and celebration of Eric's life will take place on Thursday, February 5, 4pm, at Lawnswood Crematorium. Eric's family welcomes you to attend the service. | Submitted
9. Adrian James Thompson
Died unexpectedly at the age of 53 on January 15, 2026, leaving his family and friends inconsolable. Born in Leeds on October 6, 1972, Adrian lived in Rothwell, attended Rothwell C of E School then Royds. He moved to Bradford where he married his wife Dawn. Adrian’s funeral will be held on Thursday, February 12 at Park Wood, Elland at 1.30pm.
