Sue Ryder Celebrate a Life Leeds

Palliative care and bereavement support charity, Sue Ryder, is inviting the community to come together to combat the isolation of grief.
Palliative care and bereavement support charity, Sue Ryder, is inviting the community to join its annual Celebrate a Life event this December.
Laura Hill, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, said: "Grief can leave people feeling many emotions, including sadness, pain, and even numbness, as well as deep isolation.
"In fact, our research shows that 88 per cent of people feel alone in their grief.
"While we can’t stop terminal illness, death, and grief from happening, we can stop people from feeling alone.
"That’s why our Sue Ryder Celebrate a Life Leeds is so important – offering a safe, warm, and supportive space for people to connect with others, bringing comfort to many."
This year’s event takes place during Grief Awareness Week (2-8 December), a time to raise awareness of the support available and to encourage open conversations about bereavement and grief.
In honour of someone special, attendees will be invited to write a personal dedication and add their loved one’s name to our dedication screen. There will also be readings and live music to create moments of reflection and remembrance.
To register to attend on Sunday December 7 at Leeds City Museum, visit sueryder.org/RememberLeeds or contact [email protected] or call 0113 203 3340 for more information.
