We must unite in fight over intolerance and Call It Out - the YEP says

It’s a powerful message from black, Asian and minority ethnic primary care leaders in England.

Today they voice their concerns about the worrying rise of incidences of racial and religious intolerance seen in recent weeks.

And they speak from the heart as they say there is never a time for divisions in society, particularly now as the fight against the pandemic rages on.

This message of tolerance comes from those at the heart of supporting the country’s vital efforts.

They are on the NHS frontline as well as being vital key workers who are keeping this country running.

As part of the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Call It Out campaign, they want to set the record straight.

Their message acts as a stark reminder that this virus does not discriminate.

In fact, the BAME community has lost more people, including those working in our health sector, to the virus than others in our society.

Let’s heed their warning.

Now is not the time for abuse – we must remain united.
