13 brilliant pictures as thousands of runners set off in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon

They’ve got a 26 mile route ahead of them 🏃‍♀️

More than 5,500 runners have set off from Headingley Stadium as they take part in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026.

Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield rallied the runners on the start line, paying tribute to Rob and his dad Geoff, who died last year.

The high-profile fundraising race, organised by the not-for-profit sporting events company Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All in partnership with Leeds City Council, is raising vital funds for MND research, as well as a host of other charities.

The marathon runners will be followed by those taking part in the half-marathon, which will set off at 10am.

Here are 13 pictures from the start line.
