7,777 special socks launched to support Sir Kevin Sinfield’s huge MND challenge
The limited-edition socks are raising cash for Sir Kev’s ultimate challenge
A new fundraising campaign has been launched to support Sir Kevin Sinfield as he prepares for his latest challenge in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The Sock It To MND campaign has been launched by sportswear brand OXEN Sports, with a limited-edition sock created to raise money for MND charities and Kevin’s upcoming 7 in 7 Grand Finale.
Just 7,777 pairs of the socks will be available, with all the profits being donated to the fight against MND and the Leeds Rhinos legend’s fundraising challenge.

The seven day challenge will begin on Sunday September 27, when Kevin will run an ultra marathon every day for seven consecutive days.
He will set off from Hull KR’s Sewell Group Craven Park before the challenge culminates at Old Trafford on Saturday October 3, the day of the Betfred Super League Grand Final.
The campaign is inspired by Kev’s close friendship with his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with MND in December 2019.
Since Rob’s diagnosis, Kevin has taken on a series of extraordinary endurance challenges which have raised more than £11m for MND charities and helped raise awareness of the disease.
OXEN is now calling on athletes, clubs, supporters and sporting organisations to wear the special socks and share pictures and videos online using #Sockit.
The campaign is expected to involve sporting communities across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, with supporters also encouraged to wear the socks at matches, training sessions and events.

OXEN Sports chief executive Lee Jenkinson said the campaign was designed to give people a simple way of showing their support for Kevin and everyone affected by MND.
He said: “What Kevin has done for the MND community, inspired by his friendship with Rob, has gone so far beyond sport.
“It is an incredible example of loyalty, determination and using your platform to inspire others.
“A pair of socks might be a simple thing, but if we can get thousands of people wearing them, sharing them and talking about why they are wearing them, that collective support can be incredibly powerful.”
The campaign website will also track progress towards selling all 7,777 pairs and showcase supporters getting involved.
The socks are available to buy from the Sock It To MND campaign website, with supporters encouraged to share their pictures using #Sockit.
