Yorkshire food star Danny Malin launches new YouTube channel after Rate My Takeaway exit

Yorkshire's popular "Rate My Takeaway" star, Danny Malin, has officially launched his new YouTube channel.

Known for his food reviews in Leeds and beyond, Danny released his first video on the new channel this week, marking his return to food reviews following his departure from Rate My Takeaway last year.

Originally from Barnsley, Malin found viral success on social media with his comical rants and skits on Leeds Market, before launching Rate My Takeaway on Facebook.

The show attracted millions of viewers, who all tuned in weekly to watch Danny review takeaways accompanied by his familiar chair and table.

In November 2025, Danny announced he was leaving the channel, citing “stress behind the scenes,” which he felt contributed to his mental health struggles.

Danny said about the departure: “It’s been a rollercoaster ride, but I have been inundated with support since I made the heartbreaking decision to leave the channel.

“Fans around the world have been getting in touch asking where to follow me next.”

This week, he returns to YouTube with a new channel, Danny Vs Food, and a new table and chair. The first video was released yesterday (Monday, January 5).

He said: “I needed time with my family to rest and recover because the fallout with my management on the channel was heartbreaking.

“But I’m so grateful for the fans and support. Now I’m ready to come back, better than ever before.

“It will be my new table and chair, and me on the road again.”
