Adorable poodle-cross is 'thriving' in new home after shocking rescue which went viral
A “wonderful pooch” who was one of more than 250 poodle-crosses rescued from an address has been rehomed through Dogs Trust Leeds.
A dog who was one of over 250 poodle-crosses found in a single home earlier this month has been rescued and rehomed through Dogs Trust Leeds.
Kitty arrived at Dogs Trust Leeds after the RSPCA discovered dozens of dogs living in severe conditions at an address in Nottingham.
An image of the poodle-crosses went viral online with many mistaking the shocking picture for AI.
Kitty was one of 159 dogs which Dogs Trust rescued and rehomed from the property.

When she first arrived at Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Leeds, Kitty needed a full groom to remove her matted fur.
However, since Kitty was more confident than some of the other dogs, Dogs Trust were quickly able to familiarise her with people and the outside world.

Kitty showed wonderful progress, making friends quickly, and soon she found her forever home.
She was adopted by Norman Threlfall’s family and his daughter Maria says Kitty has settled in well.
Maria said: “Dogs Trust matched my dad with the perfect dog. Kitty is so intelligent and learns very quickly though learning how to play is taking a little longer.
“She adores people and loves her walks with my dad and children love her as much as she loves them.”

Maria also highlighted that Kitty is growing more comfortable in the house: her owner’s bed.
“Kitty is very attached to a little teddy which goes to bed with her and my dad. She sleeps on dad's bed and loves sleeping there,” Maria said.
It’s been six weeks since Kitty’s adoption and Dogs Trust Leeds says Kitty is making great progress as she gradually settles in.

Kelly Walker, manager at Dogs Trust Leeds, said: "We're so happy to see Kitty thriving in her forever home, and showing off just what a wonderful pooch she is.
"When she first arrived at Dogs Trust Leeds, she needed a lot of love and care from the team, even needing a full groom to remove her matted fur, but she quickly began to show just how confident she was, making lots of friends quickly, and showing off her curious side.
“It didn't take her long to find a loving adopter, and we're so pleased to hear how quickly she has settled in and adjusted to life in the home."
