How Britney Spears is helping one Leeds dance class find its rhythm
Chloe Mangham began dancing when she was eleven years old - and has danced ever since.
Her passion for movement saw her become a dance teacher.

And now she wants to spread the love of dance and her passion for finding joy to others.
She has set up her own inclusive commercial dance classes and since then they have grown in popularity.
Every Monday evening from 6.20pm she hosts the hour-long session at Yorkshire Dance, in Leeds, for anyone aged over 16.
She said: “The hardest thing I always say when anyone comes to a new dance class is walking through the door.
“I always say to my students right from the beginning, especially if they’re new, don’t worry about making mistakes because mistakes are a really good thing as it means you’ve got something to learn.”
Chloe’s commercial dance classes have seen her regular attendees not only improve their fitness but their confidence too.
As well as this, because the atmosphere is supportive at its core, many participants make friends through the lessons.

For Chloe it is about creating a sense of community and purpose.
Chloe said: “Everyone (in the classes) is just so like-minded and really friendly. They come from different backgrounds but everyone’s there for the same reason: to have fun.
“Dance as an adult is a really hard thing to do, especially if you’ve had a bad experience growing up, which is why my core value is to instil confidence and fun without pressure.”
The commercial dance classes which see attendees learn high-energy routines which blend various dance styles, first started in April 2025 and quickly became popular.
Chloe said: “I didn’t know many people in Leeds so all I could do was post on social media and hope that people found me.
“Luckily they did and it took on from week one which is absolutely incredible.”
Now Chloe’s classes in Leeds are almost fully-booked every week as locals enjoy developing their dance ability in an easy-going environment.

Each session begins with a warm-up and stretch before the group learn a new routine to pop songs by the likes of Britney Spears and Tate McRae.
She said: “The fact that the class is on a Monday it just sets you up for the week in such a perfect way, and it's just such a nice little energy release.
“We all just have a really great time.”
