'Chance to celebrate everything Jo stood for': Final run to be held for murdered MP Jo Cox ten years on
A charity run in honour of the late MP Jo Cox will take place for the final time later this year.
The farewell Run for Jo will be held on Sunday 21 June 2026, at Oakwell Hall in Birstall, West Yorkshire – ten years after Jo was murdered at her constituency surgery in 2016.

The event coincides with The Great Get Together weekend, forming part of a nationwide moment of community, remembrance and solidarity inspired by Jo’s life and values.
Since her death, Jo Cox’s legacy has been marked both by community events and by the work of the Jo Cox Foundation in combatting loneliness and political extremism.
The event is sponsored by the GMB Union. Its senior organiser, Pete Davies, said: ““It’s an honour for GMB to once again sponsor the Run for Jo, especially on its poignant final chapter.
“Jo was not only a dedicated MP, but a proud GMB member who believed passionately in fairness, solidarity and the power of people coming together.
“This final run is our chance to celebrate everything Jo stood for, to remember her legacy, and to make this tenth anniversary the biggest and most meaningful yet.”
Jo’s sister, Kim Leadbeater – now herself an MP – said: “Run for Jo has become a hugely special event for our community and this final run feels especially important.
“It brings together everything Jo believed in; kindness, compassion and connection and sits at the very heart of The Great Get Together.”
