A Virgin Media O2 employee has been praised for his rapid response when he saw a Leeds customer begin to suffer a stroke while on a routine home visit.
Stephen Parsonage was helping the customer set up their Virgin Media O2 services when he noticed that their speech had suddenly become slurred.
Recognising the signs of a possible stroke, the tech employee immediately called 999.
As the ambulance could not reach the scene quickly, Stephen jumped into action.
He drove the customer to St James's University Hospital to ensure they could receive treatment as soon as possible.

As well as this, Stephen reached out to the customer’s family to let them know what had happened and to ensure that their younger child was cared for.
The customer is now stable and is recovering back at home and their family have said they are “eternally grateful” to Stephen for his quick-thinking.
Virgin Media O2 have also commended Stephen for going “above and beyond” for the customer.
Will Houldsworth, Director of Retail and Field Sales at Virgin Media O2 said: “What started as a routine visit quickly became a medical emergency, and his calm thinking, compassion and decisive action helped ensure the customer received treatment as quickly as possible.
“We're incredibly proud of the way he stepped in to support not only the customer but the whole family during a very distressing situation."
