Leeds completely came alive today as a mini-heatwave sent temperatures soaring across the city.
With the working week winding down, thousands of locals swapped stuffy offices and living rooms for the nearest patch of green space, but with National Picnic Week in full swing and massive weekend plans being mapped out across the region, the burning question on everyone's lips is whether this spectacular weather is set to last.
According to the Met Office, after peaking at a blazing 26c today, Leeds will edge down to a slightly fresher 23c on Saturday, bringing a breezy afternoon with 24mph gusts, a brief 30% chance of a rain shower at 6am, and very high pollen levels.
Sunday is shaping up to be the absolute pick of the weekend, offering a much calmer and beautifully bright 24c with plenty of clear sunshine for park trips.
The mini-heatwave then returns with a vengeance to start the new work week, with Monday forecast to soar straight back up to a baking 27c
