Mission Christmas: Urgent plea for presents to support 11,000 disadvantaged children in Leeds
The countdown to Christmas is on - and generous residents in Leeds are being urged to buy one extra gift to support disadvantaged children across the city.
Time is running out to donate to Hit Radio West Yorkshire’s ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign, which is the largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK.
The Yorkshire Evening Post-backed initiative encourages people to buy one extra gift to spread the Christmas cheer to thousands of disadvantages kids across the region.
And the appeal is urging for festive donations as they still have over 11,000 local children left to support.
Lisa Sullivan, charity manager, said : “ If you can afford to get involve this year I would really urge you to do this sooner rather than later so that we can make sure every local child wakes up to a gift on Christmas Day.
“It’s heartbreaking to think there are thousands of local children that so desperately need our help but with your support we can bring joy and magic to these children on Christmas Day.”
They urgently need gifts especially for the older children aged 9-18 years and the quickest and easiest way to do this is pop online to buy a gift from their online gift list which will be delivered directly to the Mission HQ for no delivery fee.

Supporters can also donate brand new and unwrapped gifts to a number of drop-off points near them, including local B&M and Wickes stores.
Alternatively, you can text YORKSHIRE to 70910 to donate £10 and the Cash for Kids team will buy a gift on your behalf.
