More than 1000 mourners from across world turn out for funeral of popular traveller from Yorkshire who had 140 grandchildren

More than 1,000 mourners turned out for the funeral of a popular traveller from Yorkshire who had 140 grandchildren.

Beloved Patrick 'Paddy' Doran, 91, was laid to rest at the Catholic Church of the Holy Rosary in Leeds on Thursday (Jan 30) surrounded by his adoring friends and family who travelled from all over the world to attend.

Paddy - who was well known for trading horses - leaves behind hundreds of family members and his wife of 70 years, Mary.

Incredible pictures of the funeral cortege show exuberant floral displays, including one in the shape of a caravan, and a golden carriage carrying loved ones.

Paddy's coffin was in a magnificent glass-panelled carriage being pulled by four horses with the Irish flag draped over their backs.

The family man was born and raised in Wexford in the southeast of Ireland before moving to West Yorkshire when he was in his early 20s.

Paddy spent the last 20 years of his life in Doncaster and became affectionately known as 'Rich' Paddy Doran by those who knew him.

After a long and colourful life the dad-of-12 passed away from natural causes at the age of 91.

His grandson John Taylor, a 29-year-old car trader and property developer, described Paddy as a "talented family man".

He added: "Paddy was an absolute gentleman, anyone who knew him would tell you the same.

"He was family family orientated and love them with all his heart.

"Paddy was also a very good businessman and knew how to make money - lots of people knew him as 'Rich'."
