Fundraisers took on a ‘booze-free’ version of the Otley Run in Leeds this weekend.
The pub crawl is so famous it has its own dedicated Wikipedia page and is often seen as a rite of passage for the city’s student population. You may have attempted it yourself a time or two.
However, if you don’t drink you might have been feeling left out of the fun. In a twist, a ‘tea-total’, booze-free version took place today (Sunday, July 5) with the aim of raising money for the Friends of Alfie Martin charity.
Participants followed the usual path of moving from pub to pub, but instead of polishing off a pint, they drank a cup of tea at each venue instead. It gave the opportunity for families to take part, as well as non-drinkers.
If you are planning on staying up for the England game, you might also be drinking a similar number of cuppas to keep you awake.
And it finished with a Mad Hatter’s tea party in Hyde Park. The Yorkshire Evening Post had a photographer down and these are our best photos.
