14 pictures as Leeds' Jewish community gather for Remembrance Sunday at BHH synagogue

Members of Leeds’s Jewish community gathered to pay their own respects on Remembrance Sunday.

The Yahrzeit Memorial Service took place at the Beth Hamidrsh Hagadol Synagogue in Moortown, with the Lord Mayor of Leeds, the West Yorkshire Police band and The Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire among those in attendance.

Led by Rabbi Anthony Gilbert, the service was to remember the lives of those lost in two world wars and other conflicts, the six million innocents who died in the Holocaust and “those who died courageously in the Warsaw Ghetto.”

Hundreds gathered at Victoria Gardens on Sunday morning for the national two-minute silence.
