Rothwell resident plagued by years of wrong deliveries after Google Maps street mix-up
A resident in Rothwell says they have endured years of misdirected post, deliveries, and even tradesmen turning up unannounced - all because Google Maps has incorrectly labelled their street.
Residents say the long-running error has left them fielding everything from misdelivered passports to confused takeaway drivers and tradesmen arriving for jobs booked at a different address.
One homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Yorkshire Evening Post they have repeatedly reported the issue to Google without success, despite the two streets being clearly signposted.

Neighbours on both roads are now urging the company to correct the listing before a more serious mix-up occurs.
They said: “I don't know about them (the other house), but I’ve had quite a bit of post, including a passport, fast food deliveries, gas fitters, workmen and various deliveries at my door.”
“I’m retired, so I was fortunately home when some roofers put up a ladder and started to go up my roof. The boss was on the phone in front of my front window.
“I opened the window and asked what they were doing. I got a reply of " ‘You're having roof work done’. I said no, I wasn't, and told them where they should be.
“I dread to think what they would have done to my roof had I not been there.”
The YEP approached Google for a comment, but did not receive one. The tech giant did however confirm that the issue has now been resolved, though changes may take up to 24 hours to appear on Google Maps.
