Where to cheer on Sir Kevin Sinfield in Leeds as his final 7 in 7 challenge begins
Sir Kevin has begun his final 7 in 7 challenge 🏃
Sir Kevin Sinfield sets off on his final 7 in 7 challenge today (Sunday September 27) - with Leeds supporters able to cheer on the rugby league legend when his epic run reaches the city later this week.
The former Leeds Rhinos captain has begun his seventh and final annual challenge at Hull KR's Sewell Group Craven Park this morning, setting off on a seven-day ultra-marathon which will take him to all 12 English Super League grounds before finishing at Old Trafford ahead of the Grand Final.
He is taking on the challenge to raise awareness and funds to support people living with motor neurone disease (MND), and Sinfield will run in memory of his former Leeds Rhinos teammate and close friend Rob Burrow, who died from MND in June 2024.

Since the first annual challenge in 2020, Sinfield and his team have raised more than £11m for the MND community. Six charities will benefit from this year's fundraising, including the MND Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.
Dr Mike Rogers, Director of Research Innovation at the MND Association, said: “Sir Kevin Sinfield’s 7 in 7 challenges really demonstrate what extraordinary teamwork and determination can achieve particularly when it comes to fighting a disease like MND.
“The money Sir Kevin and the team has raised on behalf of the MND Association is now driving nine research projects and has helped us to establish our research nurse network, giving people with MND the opportunity to take part in clinical trials much more easily.
“This is real progress which will continue to have a lasting impact on the work we do. More importantly, it offers real hope for a world free from MND. Thank you, Sir Kevin, we couldn’t be more grateful for your support.”
Where to cheer on Sir Kev - the route
Each day of the challenge is split into 7km blocks, with Sinfield aiming to complete each block within an hour before starting the next. The 'Extra Mile' events will also return, giving people affected by MND the chance to join Sinfield and his team for a mile along the route.
The opening day will see Sinfield start at Hull KR before crossing the city to Hull FC, then heading through Market Weighton before finishing at Shiptonthorpe.
Monday takes the team from Shiptonthorpe to Bishopthorpe Palace, via Pocklington, Wilberfoss, the University of York, York Knights' LNER Community Stadium and York Racecourse.

Then on Tuesday, Sinfield heads towards West Yorkshire, with his route taking him through the outskirts of Leeds before continuing to Castleford and finishing at Wakefield Trinity's DIY Kitchens Stadium.
Wednesday's return to Headingley is expected to be an emotional stop for Sinfield, who spent his entire professional career with Leeds Rhinos and shared the pitch with Burrow during the club's most successful era.
The 7 in 7 Grand Finale will then continue across the Pennines, with Thursday taking Sinfield from Huddersfield through his home town of Oldham to Salford.
Friday's penultimate stage will take in Leigh and Wigan before finishing in St Helens.
The final day on Saturday, October 3, will see Sinfield run from St Helens via Warrington before arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the Super League Grand Final.
It will bring the seven-year fundraising journey to an end, with Sinfield completing an ultra-marathon every day for seven consecutive days in his final 7 in 7 challenge.
