'A rare opportunity': A house in the grounds of a Leeds cemetery is up for sale
A house in the grounds of a Leeds cemetery is set to raise £185,000 after being put up for sale.
Bids are being invited for the Lodge in Otley Cemetery after Leeds City Council put it up for auction.
The council said the vacant property was deemed surplus to requirements and a sale would raise much-needed funds.

Auction firm BTG Eddisons, which is marketing the building, said it needed modernisation and could be re-developed.
The firm’s auction site said it was “a rare opportunity to acquire this imposing property comprising a vacant cemetery lodge.
“The property is located within the wider cemetery site at its main entrance.”

The two-storey site on Pool Road has reception rooms, bedrooms and garden space, the site said.
It said: “Otley town centre is located less than half a mile to the west, offering a wide range of amenities.
“These include schools, cafes, restaurants, local sports clubs, supermarkets, and parks.”
The building is listed with a guide price of £185,000-plus.
