Derelict Leeds pub could be transformed after years of standing empty
Derelict former Otley pub site could be redeveloped
A derelict former pub site could be redeveloped into offices if plans are agreed with the city council.

Leeds City Council has been asked to grant planning permission for the restoration of the Wharfedale Inn, in Arthington near Otley.
Wharfedale Inn Estates Ltd applied for a change of use of the building and extensions to the Arthington Lane site.
A design report said the pub closed around seven years ago and attempts to re-open it had been unsuccessful.
It said: “The site includes the disused pub, the Wharfedale Inn, and its associated outbuildings, car park and grounds.
“The pub closed on or before June 2019 and had been unsuccessfully marketed by the various owners to find prospective operators for six or more years.
“The applicant acquired the property towards the end of 2025.”
The report said the renovation would see the building used by a landscape gardening company.
It said: “They require office space for the design and business administration teams, storage space for the build materials and product supply side, and welfare for the construction team.”
The project would bring a prominent but dilapidated building back into use, the report said.
It said: “The appearance of the disused pub is today very poor. The wider site was overgrown and had not been tended for some time.”
The applicant had already taken action to secure the property against burglars and repair water damage caused by burst pipes.
The report said: “But more significant improvement will come from the granting of planning consent against this application submission.”
The council will consider a full planning application which is out for consultation until August 12.
