Farm buildings could make way for dozens of new homes in Pudsey development

Dozens of new homes could be built if planners give them the green light for west Leeds

Dozens of new homes could be built if plans for the redevelopment of land in Pudsey are agreed with the council.

Affordable homes would be provided if a developer is given permission to build 38 houses on a site at Turkey Hill.

The two-phase project would include the demolition of farm buildings and the building of four semi-detached houses.

A further 34 affordable homes would be built as part of the scheme, proposed by Springrock Homes.

A design report said: “The site is located off Turkey Hill, on the south east border of Pudsey and approximately 2km north east of Tong Village.

“The proposal will provide a significant contribution to affordable housing stock in the area, in which there is proven demand.”

Leeds City Council will consider a full planning application for the four houses.

Plans for that part of the development were revised since planning consent was first granted in 2022, the report by design firm Bowman Riley said.

Outline planning permission, which gives consent in principle, is sought for the 34 affordable homes.

More detailed design proposals would need to be agreed with the council as part of a further reserved matters planning application.

The proposals are out for consultation until June 26.
