First look at revised plans for a new McDonald’s drive-thru in Leeds

Changes have been made to the proposed restaurant and drive-thru

New plans for a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant in a west Leeds are being considered by the council.

The fast food chain was previously given planning permission in October for the scheme in Stanningley, near Pudsey.

Councillors were told jobs would be created at the town street outlet, but fears were raised over anti-social behaviour.

Leeds City Council received 57 objections, along with 56 letters in support of the scheme.

Now changes have been made to the proposal in a new planning application, which includes a new CGI image of the proposed development.

The changes include altering the planned boundary to include more land to the north of the site.

Changes have also been made to the layout of a proposed 34-space car park.

A design report said: “Since the grant of planning permission and further discussions between McDonald’s and the landowner, the proposals have been revised.”

The project would still include a new access road, public walkways, a zebra crossing and other highway improvements.

The report said: “The size and position of the restaurant building and patio are unchanged from that approved.”

The latest full planning application is out for consultation until May 20.
