Former Leeds mental health centre could be bulldozed to make way for homes
A former mental health centre in Leeds could be bulldozed to make way for homes after being sold by the council.
Plans have been drawn up for demolition of the former Lovell Park Hub and the building of two houses.
The Wintoun Street site was used as a mental health day centre before being closed as part of a shake-up of services by Leeds City Council.
It was then put up for auction to raise funds for the authority.

A planning report said the proposed development would create two five-bedroom family homes.
The report by CRL architects said: “The dwellings have been designed based on modern living and space standards, with particular attention to space, light and function.
“To facilitate this development, the existing building on site will be demolished.”
The council is considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until March 18.
A mental health support service provided at the building was moved to Wykebeck Complex Needs Centre, near York Road.
The hub, built in 1980, was given a guide price of £225,000 when put up for auction.
