Grade II-listed Leeds building could get major makeover with nine flats and restaurant
Leeds landmark could be given new lease of life with flats and restaurant in major plans
A historic city centre building could be converted into flats and a restaurant if plans are approved.

Nine flats would be created in the upper floors of grade II-listed Leeds Bridge House if the council agrees to planning permission.
The proposal would see the ground and basement floors converted for commercial use as a drinking and food venue.
Developer Property Investment Complete North West said three one-bedroom and six two-bed apartments were planned for the site.
A planning report said most of the building, previously occupied by mental health organisation Northpoint, was now vacant.
It said: “The introduction of residential use to the upper floors will add a long-term sustainable use to the building.
“The proposed use of the ground and basement levels for a restaurant-bar would add an active frontage to the building, enhancing the vitality and viability of the immediate area.”
The report said the Hunslet Road building was near Leeds Bridge and other listed buildings including the Adelphi pub.
It said the planned conversion would maintain existing architectural features of the building.
External alterations to the ground floor would include new windows and doors.
The report said: “The proposal seeks to secure the long-term future of a vacant grade II-listed building through its sensitive conversion to nine high quality residential apartments and ground floor commercial use.”
Leeds City Council is considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until September 11.
