Leeds golf club wins approval for major solar roof transformation
Council gives green light to golf club solar panels
A golf club can install solar panels on its roof after plans were agreed with the city council.

Wetherby Golf Club applied for planning permission to fit the panels at its clubhouse in Linton village, just outside the town.
Leeds City Council agreed to the installation of the photovoltaic equipment on the Linton Lane building.
A planning officer’s report said: “The proposal comprises the installation of 36 in-roof solar panels and 39 on-roof solar panels across multiple sections of roofing, facing all compass directions.”
The panels would not be close to residential properties or passing traffic and were designed to reduce reflective glare, the report said.
It said: “The applicant has confirmed the ribbon-less design and pyramid structured glass, reducing reflectivity from 40 per cent to below 5.21 per cent.
“As such, there are no significant concerns in relation to glare impacts for passers-by or users of the site.”
Council planners also said the development would not harm the appearance of surrounding green belt land.
Their report said: “The nature of the development would not detract from the special interest of the landscape.
“Overall, the proposal is acceptable in design and character terms.”
