Leeds Greek restaurant granted alcohol licence despite neighbours' concern
Concerns over noise nuisance were raised
A Greek restaurant in Leeds will be allowed to serve alcohol after a premises licence was granted by the council.
Leeds City Council decided street food outlet Yiros, on Aberford Road in Woodlesford, can serve drinks until 9pm.
A licensing sub-committee was told two letters of objection were received, raising concerns over possible noise nuisance.

Littering and traffic congestion nearby were also among the concerns raised.
Licensing consultant Marta Ndreu, representing the venue, told councillors the objections were being taken seriously.
She told the Leeds Civic Hall hearing: “The proposed hours are modest, with alcohol sales ending at 9pm.
“These hours reflect the nature of the business as a food-led restaurant, rather than a drinking establishment.
“Customers will be encouraged to leave the premises quietly and respectfully.”
No objectors were present at the hearing on Tuesday.
One letter pointed out there was a pub directly opposite the restaurant and a Co-op store 50 metres away selling alcohol.
It said: “Granting an additional licence for on-site consumption is unnecessary and would add to cumulative impact in the area.”
The committee unanimously granted the premises licence, subject to conditions agreed with the council and police.
