Leeds pushes ahead with 123 affordable homes and new rugby pitch on former college site
Plans could see 123 new homes built on the site of a former Leeds college 🏘️
Homes and a community sports pitch are set to be created on a Leeds former college site after formal plans were drawn up.

Leeds City Council hopes to press ahead with plans for 123 affordable homes at the former Copperfields College in Cross Green.
The council had been consulting people living nearby after teaming up with housing provider Incommunities.
Now a full planning application has been submitted for the development of mainly two and three-bedroom homes.
The council said some 60 per cent of the homes would be classed as affordable. The rest would be let at lower social housing rates.
A design report by housebuilding firm Keepmoat said the site on Cross Green Lane was close to schools, shops and the city centre.
The development would blend in with its surroundings and help meet demand for family homes.
The report said: “Much needed affordable housing can be delivered on the site with a range of different house type sizes to meet the needs of the city’s residents.
“These elements will ensure the creation of a pleasant environment to live, providing a positive addition to the area and a vital contribution to the local housing needs.”
Homes at the site would be owned and managed by Incommunities and offered to people on the council’s housing waiting list.
The proposed sports ground would include a rugby pitch, training area and ball-stop fencing.
The report by NPS Group said: “The proposals provide replacement grass sports pitches lost as part of the wider Copperfields College site redevelopment.”
Council officers are considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until May 8.
