Major upgrade planned for Leeds health club with new padel tennis courts
Plans for new padel tennis court set to go before council
A village health club will boost its facilities with new padel tennis courts if plans can be agreed with the council.

Iveridge Hall in Oulton, south of Leeds, is seeking planning permission for a racket sport development.
Leeds City Council has been asked to approve plans for four courts, along with floodlighting and other facilities.
A design report said the scheme would meet growing demand for the popular sport, a cross between tennis and squash.
It said: “Padel tennis is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.
“The proposal has been brought forward based on a fast-growing demand for new padel facilities across the country and specific demand within the area.”
The report said the club on Wakefield Road had around 500 members and already offered physiotherapy and chiropractic services.
It said: “The site has undergone progressive refurbishment and expansion, most notably with the introduction and enhancement of the spa garden facilities between 2018-2020, which added outdoor thermal and relaxation features.
“Collectively, the ongoing upgrades have transformed Iveridge Hall into a modern, multi-functional leisure and wellness venue serving both local users and visitors.”
A full planning application for the proposed courts is out for consultation until August 20.
The report said: “Iveridge Hall operates as one of the area’s premier health and well-being centres and there is a desire amongst the club and its members to expand the provision to include padel tennis.”
