Plans unveiled to build more than 100 new homes in Leeds village
More than 100 new homes could be built in a Leeds village if council planners give permission.
Leeds City Council is considering an application for houses and flats in West Ardsley.
The proposal by Countryside Properties would see 114 homes created on land off Westerton Road, which is currently used for farming.
A planning report said the new homes would be built on two areas of land already allocated for housing.

It said: “This site completes the development of the Haigh Wood area, sitting centrally between the two areas of developments, some of which are currently under construction by Redrow.
“The land is currently used for agriculture to grow crops with limited features and is subdivided by a partly culverted water coarse, Baghill Beck.”
The developer said homes of between one and four bedrooms would be built to help meet a need for more housing.
The development would include a three-storey apartment block overlooking a central public open space.
The homes were designed to match the surrounding area and would include rear gardens and patios.
Countryside said it was working with a housing association to ensure more than 15 per cent of the homes were affordable.
The council is considering a full planning application which is out for consultation until March 27.
